Workshop
“The Idealized Self Image”
May 22nd and 23rd, 2010
With Alison Greene-Barton
Healing the Damage of the False Mask that We Wear in Life
We put on a mask in the world to hide what we don’t like about our selves from others and to avoid unhappiness. By pretending to be what one is not we hope to establish happiness, security and self-confidence. You know perfectly well that you are not as good and perfect as you believe the world expects you to be. This fact has to be hidden… it becomes your guilty secret as you continue to show the world a false self. This false self then creates an inner demand for perfection that can never be met because you are no longer being your Real Self.
Accepting your Real Self means accepting your imperfections. This builds healthy and genuine self-confidence and peace of mind. You gain the great freedom of giving yourself to life because you no longer have to hide something from yourself and others. Then you will be able to let go into life and receive the beauty of living.
